From the recordings A Bed For My Boots and A Bed for my Boots
While watching the news, I heard a report about a woman in her eighties who was killed by a child from her neighborhood for the money she was known to keep in a jar by her door. First I cried in disbelief and outrage. Then I thought about her and that child's probable life experiences. I imagined the shock, disbelief and the memories the woman may have had about the young man who took her life so casually. I imagined she may have felt compassion and even forgiveness; for those who've known no other life don't always see the way out.
